pPuppyNS

Small, friendly secondary DNS.

PuppyNS

A tiny secondary nameserver for zones you already host.

Add your zone bailey.puppyns.net.
1

Add your domain

Tell PuppyNS which zone should have a tiny backup buddy.

2

Use or discover primary

Leave primary blank and PuppyNS will try the zone's SOA MNAME.

3

Delegate Bailey

Add bailey.puppyns.net. at your registrar or parent zone.

What PuppyNS does

It runs a secondary authoritative nameserver. Your current DNS stays the source of truth. PuppyNS asks your primary for AXFR/IXFR, serves a copy, and tracks whether delegation is pointed at Bailey.

What it is not

No recursive resolver, no record editor, no sprawling DNS hosting panel. Just a small secondary service for hobby domains that already live somewhere else.

Status tracked

Transfer, local SOA, parent NS, cleanup timing, and DNSSEC warnings.

Simple limits

Inactive or never-delegated zones are cleaned up so the appliance stays tiny.

Ops-friendly

PowerDNS and dnsdist keep their own protected admin ports behind your Traefik auth.

Your zone's little backup buddy is waiting.
